Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has reportedly made Arsenal forward Alexis Sanchez one of his priority targets for the summer transfer window after talks with his board.
The Chile international is seemingly keen to quit Arsenal this summer due to poor results in his three years at the club, and will be out of contract at the end of next season.
Arsenal have struggled to tie their top scorer down after lengthy efforts this season, and have now put off talks over an extension until the end of this campaign.
Chelsea are keen to pounce on Sanchez’s situation at the Emirates Stadium, with Conte telling transfer specialists Marina Granovskaia and Michael Emenalo that he’s among his top targets, according to the Guardian.
The Blues are prepared for summer interest in star attacking duo Diego Costa and Eden Hazard, though the report suggests it is only the former who is likely to leave Stamford Bridge.
If Costa were to leave, Conte is supposedly keen on signing either Romelu Lukaku or Alvaro Morata to replace him up front, suggesting Sanchez would be primarily used out wide.
The former Barcelona star is also wanted by the likes of Juventus, Inter Milan and Paris Saint-Germain, and Arsenal are understandably keen to avoid selling him to a Premier League rival.
