Pep Guardiola has admitted Argentine superstar Sergio Aguero may not be at Manchester City next season.
Aguero has featured predominantly from the bench for City in recent weeks with new signing Gabriel Jesus impressing up front.
Guardiolo has revealed he has spoken to the 28-year-old about his future and made it clear he wants him to remain at the Etihad.
But the manager acknowledges Aguero could leave in the summer with Premier League rivals Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain believed to be monitoring his situation.
Guardiola said: ‘I would like [Aguero] to stay but I don’t know what is going to happen.
‘I don’t know. I was so clear with Sergio [when I spoke to him].’
Brazilian youngster Jesus has made a scintillating start to his career at City by scoring three goals in as many games.
Guardiola’s side suffered two defeats in three games in January but have returned to form with victories over West Ham and Swansea City.
And City have the chance to claim second-place off Tottenham on Monday evening when they travel to Bournemouth.
